Earning Chester the accolade of being the most bee-friendly city in the UK, the Grosvenor Shopping Centre’s ‘BEEfriendly’ community eco-campaign caused a real buzz in the city.

dewinter’s talented retail marketing team were appointed by the Grosvenor Shopping Centre to engage with local families and communities during the summer

Organising themed eco events throughout the shopping centre following the brilliant rooftop bee garden construction, the team hosted regular weekend workshops with local beekeepers, educating shoppers on the humble honey- bee.

A Bee-friendly trail, BEEstylish fashion exhibition, local honey stalls, educational workshops and flower garden planting were just some of the wonderful activities attracting shoppers to the centre and increasing dwell time by an extra ten minutes!

dewinter’s social campaign created a hive of activity throughout the summer holidays and got the city buzzing with activity.


  • Average dwell time in the centre increased by 9 minutes during the campaign.

  • Website Traffic increased by 17%.

  • Facebook Page Likes up 460%.

  • 41% social media engagement increase with over 5,200 shares, likes and comments.
