Pubs Ltd expands dewinter partnership

Pubs Limited has appointed dewinter to deliver ongoing marketing support across two further venues in its portfolio — The Swan at Marbury and The Druid Inn at Gorsedd — following the success of the agency’s launch campaign for Basement 85 earlier this year.

The expanded appointment covers PR, creative design, media strategy, influencer targeting, and venue promotion, and cements dewinter as the lead marketing partner across the Pubs Limited group.

Pubs Limited is the privately owned pub company founded by Jerry Brunning, formerly of Brunning & Price, and his wife Beth. Built around a simple but exacting philosophy of plain, simple, and high quality, the group runs venues designed to be unpretentious, timeless, and genuinely welcoming: good food made mostly from scratch, good beer, decent wine, and comfortable surroundings where people actually want to spend time. With around 140 people across the business, each venue is individually nurtured and given its own distinct character.

dewinter’s relationship with Pubs Limited began with the launch of Basement 85, the underground bar beneath Chester’s historic Watergate House, a venue that represented something new for Pubs Limited: a drinks-led, city-centre space with a younger, social energy. The launch campaign reached over 95,000 local people and welcomed more than 80 guests to a maxed-out opening night, establishing Basement 85 quickly as a genuine addition to Chester’s social scene.

Kate Cox, MD at dewinter, said:
“When a client comes back and says ‘we want more of this’, that’s the best endorsement you can get. Basement 85 was a brilliant project to work on, and the relationship with the team just clicked. Pubs Limited is a genuinely special business — you can feel the care that’s gone into every venue the moment you walk through the door. That’s exactly the kind of client we want to work with, because the stories are already there; our job is just to make sure the right people hear them. The Swan and The Druid are both brilliant in their own right, and we’re looking forward to giving each of them the platform they deserve. There’s a really strong story to tell across this portfolio and we’re only just getting started.”

The expanded scope sees dewinter take a venue-by-venue approach to marketing, tailoring activity to the individual character and audience of each site while maintaining consistency and quality across the group. Influencer and blogger outreach will play a central role in building organic reach and credibility across food, drink, and lifestyle audiences in Cheshire and drivetime catchments, supported by targeted social content, paid promotion strategy, creative design, and proactive PR.
